Jio introduces its own satellite-based internet service.
Reliance Jio has partnered with SES to form Jio Space Technology Limited, a joint venture that would develop satellite-based internet technology in India with speeds of up to 100Gbps.
Reliance Jio announced on Monday that it will work with SES, a Luxembourg-based telecommunications company, to deliver satellite-based internet services across India. Jio Space Technology Limited, a joint venture, will lead the development of broadband services by combining geostationary (GEO) and medium earth orbit (MEO) satellite constellations. Jio claims that the broadband service will be capable of providing companies, mobile backhaul, and retail users with multi-gigabit lines and capacity at a maximum speed of 100Gbps.
